frequently asked questions

  • We support students with all aspects of the college search and application process while relieving some of the stress of finding schools that match the student’s academic, professional, and social goals. We regularly visit college campuses, meet with admissions officials, and network with other consultants to provide reliable, up-to-date admissions information.

  • We work with students of all academic profiles and firmly believe there is a school for every student. Our focus is on finding the colleges that will be the best match for you. If a student has needs outside of our experience we are happy to make a referral to a specialized consultant.

  • The college landscape has changed dramatically and managing this process can quickly become overwhelming. A consultant has the necessary tools already in place to inform, organize, and apply — this includes assisting with research, essay writing, and decisions surrounding academic courses and extracurriculars. This structured and individualized attention ensures the student’s needs are at the forefront of the search and the application is prepared to showcase strengths and personality. Utilizing personalized assessments alongside one-on-one conversations customizes the college search. Essay writing techniques guide the student to produce their best work, sharing their ideas with college admission officers. Students and families have access to a personalized portal that will organize all admissions materials and provide state-of-the-art tools for researching colleges and determining financial fit.

  • Although the decision of when to begin your college search is personal, most students begin the process with the assistance of a counselor during their junior year. Some families choose to begin the process sophomore year with campus visits, conversations about potential majors, and exploring interests through high school courses and summer programs. Our Comprehensive Package can begin as early as sophomore year. We also work with high school seniors who have done their research and are ready to apply with our assistance to ensure they remain organized.

  • We offer a comprehensive plan that may begin as early as a sophomore year or as late as September of senior year which includes meetings and behind-the-scenes research and editing. We also offer various essay packages that can include one personal statement or several essays and supplements. We do offer customizable hourly blocks for those students who are looking for targeted assistance in one or two particular areas.

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character -- that is the goal of true education.”

- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
