Last month, I had the pleasure of visiting Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Here’s an overview of my tour, highlighting what Wake Forest has to offer.

The campus is both beautiful and well-maintained, featuring Georgian architecture and the iconic Wait Chapel, which contribute to its classic collegiate ambiance. The green spaces and common areas foster a welcoming environment that encourages studying, socializing, and enjoying the outdoors. With a student population of around 5,000 undergraduates, the university provides a comfortable size that is uncommon for a liberal arts college.

Wake Forest boasts a strong sense of community. Students actively participate in over 250 organizations, including academic clubs, service organizations, and Greek life. The campus is vibrant, with students appearing genuinely connected and engaged. While Greek life is central to social activities for many, there are numerous other events and club activities happening daily. The university's motto, Pro Humanitate (for humanity), reflects its commitment to service and leadership. Students are encouraged to engage in community service and social justice initiatives, helping them grow as compassionate leaders.

Athletics play an important role at Wake Forest. The athletic facilities are impressive, and school spirit is palpable. Students can participate in sports or cheer from the stands, with over half of the student body attending every basketball home game. Free tickets to all home games are provided, along with transportation to and from Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Winston-Salem has a rich history and a thriving arts scene, offering numerous cultural and recreational activities. The surrounding area features parks and outdoor activities that complement academic life nicely.

Wake Forest University provides a supportive environment with strong academics and a sense of community.
